Whirlwind Golfcourse

Whirlwind Golf Club is a truly unique Southwest golf experience sensitively designed to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Gila River Indian Community. Surrounded by spectacular mountains and managed by Troon Golf, this unique golf venue was also home to the PGA’s Nationwide Insurance Tour, Gila River Golf Classic for five years.

Boxed Lunch: A boxed lunch will be provided on each golf cart. Included: Turkey or vegetarian wrap, whole fruit, chips, cookie and bottled water. A vegetarian option is available upon request. Please specify when registering with ACPC.

Dress Code: All players must comply with the club’s dress code that states a shirt with a collar must be worn, shorts must be at least mid-thigh in length, and no denim.

Rentals: Callaway golf club rentals are available for $85 plus tax per set, and include 2 sleeves of golf balls. Contact the golf shop @ 520-796-8465 to reserve club rentals.

Golf registration includes $10 for prizes.

 

 

Guided UTV Desert Tour of the tonto national forest

This four-seater can be filled to capacity and can still climb trails, crawl boulders, and zip all over the desert without it—or you—breaking a sweat. Whether you’re craving adventure or simply want to enjoy some sightseeing at your own pace, this UTV is dialed in to deliver. With electric power steering, a thrilling V-Twin engine, and towing capacity to take everything with you, this exhilarating drive handles like a dream. The UTVs have been revamped to make your next off-roading excursion your best one yet.

Each UTV can have up to 4 people sharing the driving for the tour.

Transportation is not included. 

Provided: Helmets and gloves, water and snacks onsite. 

Guidelines: Smoking and alcohol are not permitted. Each participant will be required to sign a waiver and will be responsible for any damage to the UTV.

You will first explore the world-renowned Heard Museum founded in 1929 which includes 12 exhibition galleries and outdoor sculpture gardens. Dedicated to the advancement of American Indian Art, the Heard Museum represents stories of the Native American Indians from a first-person perspective through ancestral artifacts to modern-day works. 

Next, you’ll be whisked away to the Desert Botanical Garden where the winding brick paths will lead you through a world of natural desert abundance of over 50,000 plants. You will learn how both native desert plants and the foreign species all uniquely adapt to thrive in the harsh environment. Immerse yourself in this one-of-a-kind tour highlighting Arizona’s history and environment.

There is but one way to experience the serenity and beauty of the amazing Arizona landscape – on horseback! This guided 90-minute ride will take you into the heart of the majestic Gila River Indian Reservation. Steep mountain walls rise high in the distance against the desert sky offering a watercolor backdrop for this adventurous activity. Wrangler guides will lead you on a surreal journey through one of the most scenic jewels of the Sonoran Desert while educating you on the reservation, plant and wildlife, and the history of the territory. Saddle up and get ready to explore on this truly serene horseback ride. 

Required Attire: Closed-toe shoes. We reserve the right to refuse guest participation if proper footwear is not worn.

Recommended Attire: Long pants, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.

Please note: Smoking and alcohol are not permitted. There is a weight limit of 250 pounds. Participants will be required to execute a Release and Waiver of Liability, in which you assume this risk and release Hello! and its supplier from any liability resulting from their participation.
